Sania Mirza to Head the Indian Women’s Team in Federation Cup
            The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has approved the participation of the Indian Senior Women Tennis Team to be headed by Ms. Sania Mirza in the Federation Cup, Asia-Oceania-Grade-I & II, scheduled to be held at Shenzhen City, China, from 30th January, 2012 to 4th February, 2012.  The team is as follows:
1)      Ms. Sania Mirza (Captain)
2)      Ms. Isha Lakhani
3)      Ms. Rituja Sampatro Bhosale
4)      Ms. Prerna Bhambri
5)      Ms. Sharmada Balu

The players will be accompanied by Mr. Enrico Peperno- Coach, Shri Rohit Rajpal- Non-playing Captain, and Shri Anand Kumar, Physiotherapist.

This is in accordance with providing foreign exposure to players envisaged under “Operation Excellence-2012” (OPEX-2012) Scheme specially designed for the core probables of London Olympics, 2012. 

The Seven (07) members of the Indian Team, except Ms. Mirza, will leave on 26th January, 2012 to China.  Ms. Sania Mirza, who is presently playing in the Australian Open, will join the team in China later.
