Congress Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi has called for pursuing hard-nosed diplomacy and giving a firm response to Pakistan in the wake of the killing and mutilation of two Indian Army soldiers at the Line of Control (LoC) recently.Rahul Gandhi asked senior party leaders that India should deal firmly with Pakistan based on safeguarding national interests and not indulge in emotional outbursts. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is said to have underlined the need for diplomacy.Further added that India cannot wish away Pakistan, but added there could not be business with Pakistan in such a situation. Dr. Singh said that civil society in Pakistan was for good relations with India but there were elements like army that were hostile towards such move.
