President Thein Sein met with President Xi Jingping in the Sanya, resort, on Friday to discuss bilateral relations between the two
countries.
"The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views and reached broad
consensus on relations between the two countries as well as regional and
international issues of common interest," said a joint press communique
after their talks, according to Xinhua.
The presidents agreed to enhance mutual trust and boost "all round" co-operation. Xi Jingping also promised to visit Myanmar a mutually convenient time in the near future, said the report. The state and government leaders from Asia and other regions have been invited to attend three days of economic meetings for the annual Boao Forum for Asia.
Thein Sein is currently on a three-day visit to China where he will attend the Boao Forum on Asia in Hainan Province, a summit which focuses on regional development.It is the president's third trip to China since he assumed the presidency in March 2011.
