Shuttling Gambari meets Aung San Suu Kyi : The Protests continus..

30 September: UN Envoy Ibrahim Gambari today met detained Burmese pro-democracy icon and opposition leader Noble Laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in Rangoon.
United Nation General secretary's special envoy Gambari met the Burmese Nobel Peace Laureate for ninety minutes at the State guest house in Rangoon.
The UN envoy, who led a three-member delegation, met the Burmese opposition leader on his return from Nay Pyi Taw after a meeting with Burma's military officials on Sunday.
"Mr. Gambari has arrived in Rangoon. But we did not see him being escorted. We don't know where he has been taken. But in front of Traders Hotel people are being cleared.

The outcome of trio party discussion is not made public however it is clear that the special envoy has requested the junta Leaders to have dialogs, instead of use of baton or bullets with the Leaders of peaceful demonstrators or protestants and the loss of life must be avoided and specially the Buddhist monks.

Junta has rebuffed on scores of previous U.N. attempts at promoting democracy and Gambari himself spoke in person to Suu Kyi nearly a year ago with nothing to show for it.

Gambari, who is called a facilitator with no authority by Suu Kyi party,began Sunday by meeting with the acting prime minister, the deputy foreign minister and the ministers of information and culture in Myanmar's new capital of Naypyitaw, north of Yangon. The meeting, however, did not include junta leader, Senior Gen. Thane Shwe, or his deputy, Gen.Maung the two key figures whom Gambari had been pushing to speak with before his arrival.After an hour meeting with Suu Kyi he moved to Naypyitaw to have another round of discussion with junta leaders and hoping to score point with Sen.Gen Thane and Gen Maung.An Asian official remarks that shuttlecock diplomacy may bring positivity.China,India and Russia are seen as front runners to give contribution to the ongoing Burma crisis.Mark Canning British official wants Gambari to stay long enough reap result.
The city of Yangon with troops, swelling their numbers to about 20,000 by Sunday evening.
Four monks and over 800 civilians today held a protest march in Arakan State's Taunggoke town.
In Mandalay sporadic and brief demonstration took place by students at the
intersection of 75th Street and 35th Street and again at the
intersection of 77th Street and 35th Street. Students on motorcycles
came holding a red flag and staged a brief demonstration. There were
about 100 motorbikes and the students were between 20 to 25 years of
age. They were seen on the 35th Street. But they were quick and dispersed
immediately. They came from the north and headed to the south."
