A day of fast and non-violence is being celebrated globally at the call of United Nation on 15 June of this year.The fasting and practicing the non-violence helps in evolving the true wisdom in man as the same is practiced in Buddhist and mostly all religions of the world as fasting helps in rejuvenating the physical body and mental ease.

United Nations had adopted resolution reaffirming the universal relevance of non-violence, initiated by India and co-sponsored by majority of the members of the world body, was adopted on 15th of June earlier this year to declare Mahatama birthday 2 Oct as the day as International Non-Violence Day as a tribute to the Satyagraha movement, launched by the Father of the Nation.

Mahatama Gandhi first experimented the ideas of peaceful civil disobedience in the Indian community’s struggle for civil rights in South Africa. Then he applied In India and organized poor farmers and laborers to protest against oppressive taxation and widespread discrimination.He worked for to end the social evil of un-toucability,and alleviation of poverty.He propagated the community must be work for liberation of women,no caste discrimination and respect for all religion.Nation must achieve economic self sufficiency,the village industry,handicrafts and Indian industry must evolve to its native strength.His twin virtue in public life and in private of Truthfulness and Non-violence forced people give him the name of Mahatama for his works and association with poor,downtrodden and lower strata of the society.Non-co-operation and peaceful resistance were the two ideas in political struggle to Indian's freedom from British rule teaches all Indian and the others not to hate the rulers but to love them in their freedom from slavery.Britishers on the other hand did not take the man with bare minimum robes so seriously but later understood his philosophy and respected his cause,the two countries even after independence has great respect for each other. An idea generated that people can get to change in governance without a bloodshed,the philosophy so practiced by other state in totality is South Africa by Political icon Nelson Mandela. Nation the Modern architect of India's freedom struggle- Mahatama Gandhi Birthday 2 Oct is being celebrated as International day of Non-violence.Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi whose non-violence and non co-operation movements is still not believed as the master stroke to shift change in government in world.Lots of study is underway to get to its depths to know its latent treasure Mahatama Gandhi practice of non-violence way of protest is akin to protest with no bitterness in relation which remains intact with love for each others hence becomes mode of communication to awaken others interest in view of subject.
