Jwala, Ponnappa storms into semis:World Badminton Championship
The pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwani Ponnappa have reached the semifinal of the Women's Doubles World Badminton Championship after defeating Indonesian pair of Vita Marissa and Nadia Melati 17-21, 21-10, 21-17 in quarter finals in London today. The Indian pair will now meet fifth seeded King Tiyan and Yunli Zhao of China in tomorrow's semifinal.
Earlier on Friday, Saina Nehwal lost the quarterfinals of the women's singles to Jing Wan of China 21-15, 21-10.
