EU home affairs ministers will hold emergency talks in Brussels on September 14 on the escalating migration crisis in Europe, AFP reports. The government of Luxembourg, which holds the EU’s six-month rotating presidency, said that the meeting is being convened “to assess the situation on the ground, the political actions underway and to discuss the next steps in order to strengthen the European response.” Nearly 340,000 migrants reached EU’s borders in the first seven months of 2015, which is nearly a three-fold increase compared to same period last year.
