Corruption on a grand scale.

The 11 and a half million leaked documents from Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca have proven, once again, what we have already known for some time – that the ‘offshore world’ of tax havens is a den of money laundering and tax evasion right at the heart of the global financial system.
Western media to twist the revelations into a story about the ‘corruption’ of official enemies – North Korea, Syria, China and, of course, Putin,but frugal importance to EU countries,  Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa,and  Malaysia,Indonesia, Philippine & other  South Asian Countries.

Assam Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of 99 outgoing MLAs who are contesting again in the 2016 Assam Assembly Elections. Please find below details of the analysis comparing the asset growth of re-contesting MLAs.

  • MLAs Contesting Again:  Assam Election Watch (AEW) and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) have analyzed the affidavits of99 outgoing MLAswho are contesting again in the 2016 Assam Assembly Elections.
  • Average Assets in 2011 Elections: The average assets of these 99 re-contesting MLAs fielded by various parties including independents in 2011 were Rs 1.33crores (Rs. 1, 33,75,527 ).
  • Average Assets in 2016 Elections: The average assets of these 99 re-contesting MLAs in 2016 is Rs 2.58 crores (Rs. 2, 58, 18,964).
  • Average Asset change from 2011 to 2016: The average assets of these 99 re- contesting MLAs, between the Assam Elections of 2011 and 2016 increased byRs. 1.24 crores(1,24,43,436).
  • Percentage change in assets from 2011 to 2016 Average percentage increase in assets for these 99 re-contesting MLAs is93%.
