Petrol price cut by Rs 2.25 per litre; diesel by 42 paise

Petrol price has been cut by 2 rupees 25 paise per litre and diesel by 42 paise a litre. The new prices came into effect from midnight last night.

Petrol will now cost 62 rupees 51 paise a litre in Delhi, 66 rupees 3 paise in Kolkata, 67 rupees 11 paise in Mumbai and 62 rupees in Chennai.

Diesel will cost 54 rupees 28 paise in Delhi, 56 rupees 48 paise in Kolkata, 59 rupees 60 paise in Mumbai and 55 rupees 82 paise in Chennai.

This is the second reduction in rates this month.

Indian Oil Corporation, the nation's largest fuel retailer said, the current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and Rupee-US Dollar exchange rate led to the decrease in the prices.
