ASEAN Secretariat today welcomed a group of professors and associate professors from various universities in Japan. The professors are interested in how cooperation and conflicts affect governance and direction of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Colleagues from AEC Department briefed them on achievements and issues of AEC, a single market and production base, AEC Blueprint 2025 and foreign direct investment in underground resources. They, later on, exchanged an interesting discussion with the professors on AEC framework in the sector of resources for ASEAN Countries, ASEAN centrality and Mega-Free Trade Agreement and infrastructure development in ASEAN Countries.
